Anzac: WALT

                                                                 Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
Excerpt from 'Flanders Fields, by John McCrae, 1915.

John Tamihere: Of all our days Anzac Day is our real national day ... I chose this picture as it symbolises Anzac day. I think the poppies reperesent all the Austraillan and New Zealand soilders that fought in at Gallipoli in WW1.
I think the cross reperesent  Austraillan and New Zealand soilders that died there.

  1. Well done Cody, thats a great summary of why Anzac Day is so important. Did you know that we now use Anzac Day to remember all New Zealand and Australian soldiers who have gone to war?
